All these pissed off people are pissing me off!!!!

Ok, being a huge fan of the Sleepaway Camp series, I bought this film and watched it..... and I loved it! What confuses me is all the fans of the original that are whining about how they didn't like this film. It's in the same style as the original. It's slightly cheesy, as was the original. Cheesy horror films aren't welcomed today as well as they were in the 80's. If Return to Sleepaway Camp was made then, it would be right at home.

It's not the fact that it's cheesy,
It's the fact that it's just boring, The fat kid was annoying as hell, the death scenes sucked where the ones from the original were well done.

And on a final note,
anyone who complains because people don't like what you like are morons who can't take opinions.

reply

i agree with the guy above. stfu
the movie sucked

reply

I'm not complaining just because I like the film, I'm just defending a good film from close-minded people.

And on a final note,
Anyone who hangs around on a message board just to continously bash a movie is a pathetic moron with no life.

reply

Did you direct this movie? Aren't people allowed to have their own opinions? You can't make someone like a film just because you defend it. To each his own.

reply

For me, the Alan character completely ruined the movie for me. He is suppose to be the character that we sympathize with (like Angela in the original), but he is a total douche bag himself, so it is hard to believe that the killer would kill the kids who pick on him, when it so obvious that he DESERVES to be picked on!

Also, the film *tried* to have a shocking ending like the first one, but failed miserably because of bad make-up effects. Come on now, did anyone doubt who the killer was?

And for being the long awaited "true" sequel to the original film, I think it did everything but ignore the character of Angela. We should have been told a little bit more about what had happened to her since her days at Camp Arawak and how/why she made it back to camp. It just short-changed the original too much in my opinion.

reply

so people had a difference in opinion, so what? why does every SC fan's opinions have to mirror yours? Ever hear the phrase: "Whatever floats your boat"? I mean, I'm not trying to be rude or start a fight or anything like that, but who made you the end-all, be-all of SC fans? Where is it written that your sole opinion is to be the protocol that we should all base our own opinions on? It doesn't make sense to me. I for one, thought Return was a bit of a disappointment, simply for the horribly irritating main character, and the ridiculously lame ending. I mean, we weren't supposed to know that Anglea was the cop when they first flashed on the screen? any Felissa Rose fan klnows her when they see her - fake nose or not....

People are pissed off because this movie was terrible.

I agree with the original poster. I love this movie. I’m getting annoyed with people trolling this board by replying to every topic saying they don’t like the movie. We get it! Move on to another movie.

reply

Sadly theymetinla has made it his lifes work to come on this board purely to bash this movie...I am stunned that a year later he is still doing it!

On another note I like this movie but I wont lie , when I first watched it I was hugely disappointed by many things - still I can watch it and have fun so thats kind of all I care about in a slasher movie.

reply

lol dont talk about me like that, you dont even know who i am. you do know i was in this movie right?

YOU FAIL lol

reply

Were you an extra or something, theymetinla?

reply

lets just say that i was VERY underpaid and that the movie did not turn out how ANY of us on set wanted or expected it to. this film and some of the people that made the film are not even worthy of a dvd release.

i love the SC fans and the SC world but the people behind this movie are lucky they even had ANY footage to piece together to make a film.

Uh, welcome to the industry... surprise surprise! lol...

If you were in the movie, you would know this was a labor of love that the director never gave up on.

I love the film, have no idea why it's hated.

I found this film to be an enjoyably nasty sequel to the supremely warped original; it perfectly caught the harsh and mean-spirited tone that distinguished the first film.

I just watched this movie for the first time and I have to say that it can't hold a candle to the original. First off, they tried to make it too much like an 80's movie. Wedgies? Spit wads? Flipping people off and having it be like the worst possible gesture ever? This movie came out in 2008, not 1988. "Slightly cheesy" is a huge understatement when it comes to this movie. Sure, the first one is cheesy, but that's because it came out in '83 so a lot of the scenes and lines in it are cheesy in retrospect, but that's the same with a lot of 80's films that aren't trying to be cheesy.

Cheesy horror films aren't welcome today? Well, I'm not sure how true that is, but I do know that there's an overabundance of b horror movies today. Christ, just go on netflix, most of them are up to watch instantly.

I didn't like this movie. Like a previous poster stated, Alan was a douchebag, a thorough-going douchebag, and it was almost impossible to sympathize him. That's one of the many reasons why this movie will never compare to the original. There was nothing disturbing about the kids in it and you couldn't take any of them seriously. It was just one cheeseball, over-acted line after another.

Angela just popped out of nowhere. She wasn't connected to the story at all aside from relating loosely to the main character in getting picked on (which he totally deserved). She was sort of the deus ex machina of the film, only instead of helping a character, she helped the movie for the Sleepaway Camp fanatics. Because seriously, without her or Ricky, I'd be willing to bet you would hate the movie too.

And before I go, I just want to say that just because a movie is intentionally cheesy doesn't necessary mean that you have to like it. I'm tired of these people who think that it doesn't make sense for someone to dislike a movie that is intentionally and blatantly cheesy. There's a good kind of cheese, and there's a bad kind of cheese. The good kind balances the cheese with other elements that make a great movie; the bad kind goes over the top carelessly because there's always going to be a weirdo like you who will defend it to death.

Alrighty. You like this sequel? It was so dumb and not scary at all. I liked the first and then the second and third were liveable but come on now.
