Gus' Stupid Story

I have already expressed my anger for this on the Recess forum, but it wasn't really relavent so erm... sorry about that:
Why the hell has this been made? (not the whole thing, just Gus' contribution). Don't get me wrong, I was enjoying All Growed Down right until Gus tried to impress Hector with that bull**** story. A few things:

< If this actually happened (and if it did I will stop watching Recess for the rest of my existance), then why is Gus so drastically different? (except for when the heat wave hit, and he told another bull**** story which somehow managed to cool the gang down). There are too many episodes related to how weak Gus is for this to be true.
< If Gus did live there before and move away, why has there been no mention of it? Whether it be from Gus, his parents, the gang, Miss Finster or Prickly.
< The writers (who should be executed for thinking this one up) cannot have been trying very hard, because it's too similar to what the gang were facing at the time and from the episode where the Randall lies to his Dad about the gang, and in particular, Mickey being a bully (Mike the Mauler i believe).
< If Gus' parents are constantly moving, why would he have to move back to the same place. Unless he and his family decided to move back after it became unnecessary for his father to stop moving. Which would mean that Gus would have chosen Third Streen for a reason, so he must have some memory of what happened when he was there before.
< I appreciate the fact that the writers thought of the load of rubbish after the previous episodes, so they had no way of changing them. But this is TOO inconsistant to what has been portrayed in the series (much like TJ's voice - another annoying detail!).
< If Gus hadn't had acted like it was real then I wouldn't mind in the slightest (in fact, if he admitted that he made the story up to get set free then I would have quite enjoyed All Growed Down).
< If they REALLY wanted a story about Gus saving everyone, why couldn't they have set it at another school? The answer is, that they had to include the gang or else it wouldn't be 'Recess'. But personally i think it would have worked much better.

Now that I have gotten that off my chest: I an very eager to hear other peoples view on Gus' bull**** story, I will not critisize nor make fun of anyone elses opinions and views.

Thank You

Very, very, very well said. There was NO reason for the writers to ever say that Gus was at Third Street for kindy- as you said, it's inconsistent, and frankly, Gus is never the type to do anything brave for anyone else. There's too many episodes of him a) chickening out of things, b) bailing out on his friends, c) betraying his friends, and d) all of the above simultaneously.

I agree that his story was total crap, so I personally choose to believe that he made it up.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think Gus is all bad. He can be very funny...when he's being pathetically stupid, but that seems to be about all he's good for.

Signed, Gus-Basher goofy moNkey child.

Dude, it was an terrible idea, although I understand the motivations behind it.

The only part of this "film" I really enjoyed was Gus' story because...it was the ONLY new story. This film is basically a compilation of previous episodes, for those who havent' seen the whole series they should have known this. Taking the Fifth Grade at least had all new stories, but this was basically an extended clip episode.

I an't afraid of no ghosts!
