This movie is really bad

The tiktok musical is a great thing for performers hit hard by the pandemic. It's very cool that people came together for something good like that.

That being said, why Ratatouille?

I'm probably in the minority, but I think Pixar is very hit-or-miss, and that they have been far more miss historically.

I LOVE The Incredibles. That movie is, well, incredible. It came out at just the right time for me in my life. The animation is beautiful, the performances are top notch, and it has a very engaging story where you care about the characters and are legitimately invested in the emotional core.

None of those things are true about Ratatouille. I am aware Brad Bird directed both of these films, but I'm also aware Sam Mendes made Skyfall and Spectre.

What am I missing here? Why are Pixar movies so embraced when their typical film is cardboring with 0 substance? I know a movie doesn't have to make sense, or have to hit all the traditional rules of drama, as long as it delivers entertainment. I am not entertained.

No-one cares what you think.

There's no hyphen in no one.

Pathetic, you have no valid argument against this excellent movie and are being utterly pedantic.

And you don't care

Been years now since I watched it so I can't speak to specifics of the plot, but I saw the film when it first came out and enjoyed it quite a bit. In fact, I bought it on Blu-Ray, and it is extremely rare for me to buy an animated film.

I remember thinking it was a lot of fun with likable characters and an interesting premise.

No, you are absolutely in the minority. Pixar for the most part has made nothing but top-notch films (they easily rival any studio out there), and Ratatouille is anything but a bad film. It’s very much one of Pixar’s best. Nay? Well, most (obviously that doesn’t include the usual online naysayers) beg to differ.

Peace

The concept of the film is disgusting which didn’t help but while I wouldn’t go so far as to call it ‘really bad’, I found this one of Pixar’s weakest movies. The main human character was quite irritating as I recall.

I agree Pixar can be hit or miss, though I don't think they've made a truly bad film to date. Their films are certainly not "cardboard with zero substance". And with all that said, while Pixar has had some small misses, this film isn't one of them.
