underated

This film is underated. It is quite watchable, nothing special though.

The fx is a recreation of the 1950's fx, and it is on purpose! And that's the nice part of the movie, all of it in fact, should focus on that sort of remake, many brainless people though it was the best they could do.

I'll give it a 6 out of 10.

No, it doesnt deserve a 2.9!!!

Totally agree... unfortunately due to MTV's inclusion and them promoting this as a Carmen Electra and Nick Carter vehicle, the people who would enjoy this flick, won't even know about it or wouldn't think of picking it up off the shelf at the video store. Very smart, witty, fun dialogue, fun scenes of stop-motion animation, and Adam West. There are fans of those things out there and I hope they can look past all the pseudo-pop culture references. The reason this thing is rated so low is because it was marketed to the WRONG demographic, to all the wannabe Paris's and Lindsay's (puhleez!) instead of real fans of Harryhausen-type flicks. Boo to the studio, but Yay to the film! Let's please have Hollywood stop bending over backwards for this empty, hollow, shallow sector of the audience... there are still real moviegoers out there.

I thought this film was good, silly fun that pays enjoyably affectionate tongue-in-cheek homage to lovably ludicrous cheap'n'cheesy 50's creature features. The funky herky-jerky stop-motion animation and tacky obvious miniatures were both hilariously hokey. I likewise loved Adam West's delightfully hammy portrayal of wacky mad scientist Dr. Harryhausen. Carmen Electra was as sweet and sexy as ever. And Backstreet Boy Nick Carter's surprise last reel cameo was a total hoot! I give it an 8 out of 10.

This is the most painful movie I've sat through. I literally had to shut this dreck off about four times before biting the bullet and wrapping it up. I was left angry...ANGRY. The only positive I can spit out is that i bought this chunk of offal used, so the makers never saw a penny of my money. I blame everyone who had so much as a grip credit in this slop. I hope the entire cast is rendered sterile and that the fools who sponsored this thing be forced FORCED to watch this steaming pile over and over and over until they donate every cent belonging to them to charity, and become monks.

Adam West.... I forgive you. But believe me, it wasn't easy.

Despite the unnescasary Celebrity Cameo's and Massive Corporate Marketing, This One of the best films EVER made. This film is good campy fun in the vein of the old B-Movies of yesteryear that I relish so much. You can totally see influence from:
-Invasion of the Body snatchers,
-Attack of the Giant Ants,
-Teenaged zombies......
The list could go on, and on!
I never knew that it was on MTV, I just rented it one day, along with The lost skeleton of Cadavera. Both of which pay homage to the Rediculous natures of the classic Over the top scenereos played out in the old Classic "passion- pit films.

I find myself quoting this film so often....Tell me you have never seen something bad happen and shouted "EIGHT BALL!!!!!!"
I just don't get how Anybody could NOT appreciate this film.
Of course this is comming from sombody who's Favorite films include:
-The Evil Dead trilogy,
-Earth Vs. the flying saucer,
-Hot Rods To Hell
-Attack of the gilla monster,
-Plan 9 from outer space,
-Shaun of the Dead,
-The Queen of outer space,
-Forbidden Planet
- and, The Brain from planet Arous.
So, I guess I am just a conoseur of Campy Sci-Fi Fun.

I thought his movie was great and I enjoyed watching it on a Saturday afternoon. That was yesterday when I saw this movie for the first time on. I did not think it was bad at all.
