¿Where's Thomas More?

I had a chance finally to watch the whole mini-series and found it quite entertaining and informative.

Something I found odd was the absence of the character of Thomas More. His refusal to recognize the anullment of the first marriage of Henry VIII sent him to the gallows.

Maybe such episode would have lessened the aura of the Boleyns, that history said conspired to eliminate More, since it was of course in their interest to have a Queen.

Maybe for reasons of dramatic effect, it was necessary to present the Boleyns in a more favorable light, since the main actress was playing the part of Anne Boleyn. Not to say of course, that her trial was a travesty and her death most cruel.

More didn't object to the annullment of Henry's first marraige at all. He refused to voice his opinion of it at all. What More did object to was the Oath of Supremacy, which set Henry up as head of the Church of England, over the Pope in Rome. But yeah, the absence of More in this show was puzzling. He was such a huge presence at court. Time constraints maybe?

I think it was focusing on the wives and less so the Religion aspect?

Had More been involved, more time would have to be devoted to the Pope etc? Odd that he isn't even mentioned though?
