Where in Columbus is the house?

I watched this a while back with my dad who grew up in Columbus. We were trying to figure out where the house is located. Does anyone know the general area or anything. Thanks.

If you look closely when the mother is looking through the newspapers at the library it says where Mr Gordy. Then you could look it up on mapquest or something.

Yeah, I saw the newspaper and remember knowing where that was, but now I have forgotten what it said. I will have to watch it again. Hopefully it will come on again soon, or become available on dvd. Thanks for your help.

The address given on the obituary was 1529 Hilton Avenue. It gave that address as being Mr. Gordy's address.

Thanks mayesmp! I looked it up on Google Earth. Its right near the mall down in Columbus. I wonder if there are alot of people that drive by there just to check it out. Have they been showing this on TV lately? I want to watch it again. I thought it was a really good show. Thanks again for the address.

Thanks, but now I am confused, I thought Mr. Gordy on the show was James S. Gordy and he died in 1974 and that he was buried in Columbus, not Newnan. I am really confused. Where did you find the information you posted? I would like to sort this out.

That is the worng Mr. Gordy. The right one died on September 25, 1974.

Several sources online place the Wyrick's house in Ellerslie, Georgia, just up the road from Columbus.

I believe Elleslie is more accurate than Columbus. Miss Kelly mentioned that Mr. Gordy lived up in Waverly Hall, just up from Ellerslie. Plus, they are out in the country, not in the city. Scared me to death, I live in Woodbury, not far from Waverly Hall.
