I found this movie in the comedy section of the video store. I didn't think the movie sucked that bad...it was entertaining enough for me to keep watching, but I thought it was supposed to be a comedy. I was not expecting a drama! If I wanted to watch a funnier movie about alcoholics/rehab I would have watched "28 Days"...again.
Just wondered if anyone else found it odd that it's listed as a comedy. What purpose does it serve?
Yeah I totally agree. Was expecting more comedy and more "partying" as opposed to drinking by himself, etc. It wasn't a bad movie for the price I paid for it. The main actor did a pretty good job and entertained me up until the car accident.
shareI think it can make sense to classify it as a comedy to some people because of the use of some sort of black humor. But it could be as well classified as a drama... This is not a master piece but it doesn't deserve its poor rating either. And I agree regarding the main actor's efforts, he was really credible as a repenting alcoholic.
shareI watch 3 or 4 movies a week and have come to the conclusion that any movie that isn't horror, western, musical, war, sci-fi or historical fiction, is dumped into the romantic- comedy category. I like romantic comedies, but I call something a comedy if there is humor involved. But it seems like all that qualifies a movie as a comedy is to have a story line, a man and woman with friends, and to be in color.
