Why was Lena crying?

At the start of the movie, I think it is the first time we see her, and she is crying in the shop.

I was waiting for some explanation at some point in the movie. I'm guessing it may be because of her failed relationship with the Doctor, but I don't know how long ago that was.

Maybe Lena had had a bad breakup with a boyfriend, and that was why she was crying at the start.

The Doctor had been out of the village for at least two years at this point. She mentions this when she is yelling that first the Doctor now Daniel she falls in love with and they both have or will leave her.

No, cat lover, you're wrong. She is crying about the doctor, with whom she had a two-year relationship, which recently ended.

I think it's more likely that she's crying about what her 'lovelife' has become after the doctor left. Swapping boyfriends without being able to trust or even feel anything anymore. Which is not what she wants, but the only way that works for her.

Yes as has been mentioned probably the breakup...but also just some sadness she holds. So many good movies from Sweden and Europe in general don't seem to have every little thing wrapped up in perfect sense. This leaves room for our own interpretation of the scene. It is more of a Felt Sense than makes sense.
