Pauline Collins is just dire in this

Pauline Collins is *totally* miscast in this adaptation!

She's a born comedy actress, but doesn't translate to the Spooks-style of drama they're aiming for here.

She's full of "it says here" acting as one of my colleagues at drama school describes it!

"It says here that it's a MI5 style drama so I'll do lots of MI5-type acting".

She's be better off going to Overactors Anonymous!

She's trying to be Gemma Jones and she's not in the same league - just isn't good enough, classy enough or flexible enough to manage it, I'm afraid...

It's sad when talented actors get miscast like this as it makes them look weak and untalented, which she plainly isn't, just in the wrong part.

Really?

I just watched it, and enjoyed it. I thought she played a cute, quirky role.

I watched it this afternoon and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed it as well.

I thought Pauline Collins was spot-on. She was contending with sojme horrible dialogue. Painful, awkward, literal. Oliver Davies was the egregious over-actor here, I think.

For me, the sins in this adaptation are the insensible new plot; stilted, trite dialogue; miscasting; lackluster direction, and outmoded video technology. The cast was stellar; they did what they could with the hand they were dealt.

I quite like the character she is playing, though she has nothing to do with the original, story.

I don't agree I thought she was great in this really enjoyed it
