Was Biohazard 4 Better?

I haven't played Outbreak, but I've heard it's crap, and I've got Biohazard (Resident Evil) 4, and I've heard it's excellent, and it is.

What is your opinion?

Nothing is ever quite as it seems

I think outbreak is a great game and its not crap.

Giles -Who are you?
Kendra- Am the vampire slayer
Buffy- We got that bit honey he means your name

It's a good game so is RE4.

I say a good game because I like to play it minus a few details like you don't get to keep the items you have for the next scenerio but other than that I have no problem with it.

I think the Outbreak games are underrated myself. RE4 is a whole different kind of game really. There are aspects of both games that I like.

I prefer Outbreak's graphics and game engine over RE4's, but I think some of the scenarios in the Outbreak games are a little short.

My favourite level/part in ANY Resident Evil game though is Decisions, Decisions in RE Outbreak. Some great level design there.

i say RE4 is lightyears better in terms of gameplay, combat, and graphics. the fire and smoke in outbreak look rather bad

i beat 4 scenarios so far, and im up to decisions. its really confusing and easy to get lost in that scenerio. my favorite scenerio was the outbreak one, that felt like playing dawn of the dead or something. below freezing point was really boring and bland, but the boss fight was excellent. i loved the hive, a haunted hospital is really creepy and i liked leech man. hell fire was okay

I guess it's down to preference. Here's why I think the Outbreak games are better:

GRAPHICS - A lot smoother, particularly the cutscenes. RE4 just had bland colours that made the whole thing look washed out.

GAMEPLAY - It isn't as repetitive and the level design is far superior.

COMBAT - I found RE4's combat very repetitive, and far too easy. Outbreak had more (and better) weapons.

CINEMATIC - I don't really need to say any more, do I?

Unfortunately, RE4 doesn't have much going for it. Tehnically, you should have more of a sense of achievement after finishing RE4 because it was one long game with a story. However, you don't really feel like you've achieved anything, and there's no replay factor to it. Except for the Mercenaries game, which gets boring after a few hours.

The Outbreak games, however, had loads of flaws:

PARTNER AI - Terrible. Spoils many sections of the game.

OVERALL STORY - Well, there isn't one really. This poses no problem for what it is, but it doesn't add anything to the canon RE story. However, it does have lots of self-contained plots, which are better than RE4's story.

i agree with u completely, outbreak brought back all the memories of the older ones, but alot more advanced, outbreak was completely horror, i especially liked the good old static camera, it was alot better and help wit hthe fear factor then re4's third person camera, and most of moments in the scenarios always had you on the edge, none of this was in re4, re4 was too different for my likings, although i did enjoy it and i do own it. only time i fealt any scary parts of re4 was near the end in the lab areas and ya got those guys that you have to shoot parts of there bodies, they freaked me out a little bit

Outbreak was great, in my opinion - just a beautiful game with stunning cut scenes.

But, also my opinion, Resident Evil 4 is the finest Resident Evil game ever made, and easily in my top 3 favourite games of all time.

In my opinion, Outbreak is superior to RE4. 4 is a much better made game, as Outbreak has many annoyances and glitches, but it's much more like the original games, and as a result, I have a much better time playing them, then 4.

Luther, just shoot that *beep*
