did paul host another halloween special the previous year?

I don't remember there being another Paul Lynde Halloween special in '75, or any other year for that matter.

Can you say where he seems to imply it during the '76 show? He does say something about "last year" during the exchange with Margaret Rutherford, as I recall, but I don't think he was referring to a previous special.

I'm going to watch the disc again this year. It's a Halloween tradition in my home.

I've just watched this again, as I do every year at this time, and he does indeed make a reference to being back after last year. I still don't understand the reference, and his credits don't support this. I guess that's another example of the weird appeal of this very strange and entertaining show.

They probably hope for repeat viewing hence next year it would refer to this years viewing but not to be ... Unfortunate as this is a masterpiece

He was probably referring to 'The Paul Lynde comedy hour (1975)' he made a few variety hour type shows in the 70s, I hope they resurface on YouTube or dvd one day
