loved her / didn't love her.. *spoilers*

my impression was that Tamsin definitely cared and had feelings for Mona.. though the word "love" is probably too strong to use.. it was pretty clear that Tamsin had some emotional problems, probably because of her parents who didn't care for her, and also because she had a bad relationship with her sister, thus feeling lonely.. this may also explain why she considered her to be "dead"... and because of these problems, she was probably afraid of getting emotional or intimate with people.. and that's why she ultimately got scared and ended her relationship with Mona... that's my take on the film

She was a conniving manipulative and heartless person. She was ashamed of her real self and feelings.

That's an interesting view. Not sure if I agree but I like that you had that approach to it.

George Lucas talking about: 'Hey, give it to me, I'll fix it. I'll make 20 more of them'

She was a thrill seeker and as she said herself a'fantasist'. She's the kind of person who lives in the moment and believes what she says when she says it.
When she says "We will always be together" as she's saying it, she wants to believe it. She IS in love. But, then reality sets in and she can snap out of the dream.
Mona thought the dream was a reality.
That's my take.

I agree with mackay 254. I think a part of Tamsin wanted to believe she was in love with Mona, but only because of how aware she was that she wasn't capable of loving anyone - and I really believe that's true, because Tamsin came off as sociopathic to me. To me Tamsin only loved Mona to the extent that she wanted to love her, and she only wanted to loved her to the extent that Mona was interesting to her. That's what made Tamsin such a tragic character. Mona gained something from the experience, but you get the sense that Tamsin will likely never escape the maze of her own mind games.

You heart me? What is that? Is that like I love you for pussies?

Yeah, Tamsin was clearly some kind of sociopath, or perhaps even a psychopath. She was clearly able to make her feelings appear genuine, and understand Mona's feelings as well, without actually being sincere herself. That is a very scary quality that tends to appear in socio/psychopaths.
