What was the point to the neighbors?
They introduced them as if they would serve a purpose to the plot, then completely abandoned them. Why was the creepy neighbor guy demanding to see Emily towards the end? He barely knows her
shareThey were meant to be a red herring to throw the viewer off and make us keeping wondering who "Charlie" really was.
He wanted to see her because he was genuinely worried about her well being, seeing as how he just saw her dad come out of the woods with a shovel, a knife and a crazy look on his face.
