Going to watch it AGAIN!

This wasn't so bad a movie. I've seen WORSE movies (Blood Sucking Freaks and Coppula's Dracula I couldn't even finish watching...).

I'm just curious about the plot. It actually seems like there WAS one, so I thought a second viewing might clarify things a little.

Personally, I don't care much about acting/dialogue and there really wasn't a whole lot of special effects to worry about. As someone else pointed out, If you are expecting Shakespeare or LOTR, your watching the wrong movie.

Of course, plot holes abound in movies like these:

If the little girl died in 1967, how come her sister didn't age for 37 years?

How could she have sex with Stan if he's a ghost? I'd think she would notice the less than healthy body if it WAS his body (gotta love the necrophilic overtones there).

Was the cop the ORIGINAL victim or the second one on the dam? It looked like the former and if that was the case, how come nobody noticed (see what I said about Stan above)?

All the crap about her parents was utterly pointless. No wonder so many here couldn't get to the ACTUAL movie because of it.

Okay, I actually watched it three times, the third time with the director's commentary which made NO help what so ever (as far as the plot was concerned). The only thing I figured out was that the little girl died only a year ago and not in 1967.

I shall open a Ghost LAke fanclub. We will watch ghost lake all day and night. This movie is so good YEA MAAaan. It has changed my whole view on life and dead corpses!

I disagree with the original poster. The stuff with Rebecca's parents was necessary for two reasons: it brings Rebecca to the place where she meets Stan and it leads the viewer to question her sanity, making the end twists far more effective.

"Less is more."

I just bumped to this movie while searching stuff in horror/thriller/mystery-
genre and for the first time actually read these blog entries in IMDB...

This *beep* people are throwing upon this flick has made it even more
interesting. What are the standards by which we make these ... these
opinions? Right after reading these entries I had to check out
how people had treated 'White Noise' here...

And not one bad word... Maybe I have missed all the really crappy
movies but that one really sucked in my opinion.

And if not - hey, that just makes me what the whole western culture is
among few other things really shouting for... 'an individual'
