Possible Plot hole - Someone please explain **SPOILERS**

Towards the end, it is revealed that when the miniature idol is held up against a light source (the sun), it reflects a map leading to the real idol.
But when this miniature idol is displayed in the museum, how come the map was not revealed in the enlarged projection?
