That's why she goes into the mother's bedroom while she is sleeping and thanks her mother for the wonderful gift she has given her of knowing Love before she dies. This is why the mother cries into the mirror so hard later. She knows Mina knew.

there's absolutely nothing that indicates mina ever knew about the guy being purposefully bribed into spending time with her.
for all she knows, the guy moved in downstairs and randomly developed an interest in her which is easy considering that he already "harrassed" her a bit before the mom even met the guy.
Sorry, but you're obtuse. Mina figures it ALL out ahead of time, not only part of it. She is so full of love that she even thanks her mother for arranging the whole boy plot out; the film has no real closure unless Mina knew EVERYTHING. The mother even kept the fact that she was dying away from Mina, and Mina figured that out too. She was one smart cookie.

this is the only sensible thing you've written so far... everything else is pretty much based on absolutely no evidence from the movie in any sort of way and in place is your own empty and weak reasoning like the protagonist being "full of love".

Then since she was one smart cookie SHE KNEW. And that was why so much later her mother was weeping into the mirror. Mina had already been dead awhile and now we see momma crying yet again - there was a REASON for that. She realized that Mina KNEW her plot of getting the boy to rent there so they would fall in love. The boy originally did it for money but fell in love with Mina anyway and afterward gave the money back to momma.
The film would lack that final punch of poignancy if Mina went to her death not knowing how much her mother loved her.
Watch it again. With your heart, not just your eyes.
