Who else loved Garrity?

That dude was almost solely responsible for Rescue Me's funny side.

Some of things he got himself into were pure gold

- Jerking off with tanning lotion lol
- Dating the bird with a flatulance problem
- Marrying Maggie
- Burning down Mike's mums house lol
- I was in tears when he was getting ash out of his ass near the end

Not gonna lie but I would be able to put up w/ a little gas too if my girl was that hot.

reply

"Sir, step away from the box please." Classic.

And we could have used more Maggie.

Best character on the show

He was easily my favorite character on the show and was glad that they didn't kill him when he had kidney cancer, even tho it seemed like it was gearing that way for a while.

Because sponges never have bad days.

reply

"Franco got you a watch! He only got the waitress a necklace!"

You're gonna carry that weight.

reply

He and the probie are distractingly stupid. They could be funny in small doses, but they're just so stupid.

I loved Garrity.

I'm with Naxself. I thought he was a good character who strayed into caricature and slapstick too many times.

One of the funniest Garrity scenes ever: when he was kissed by that very wide-mouthed girlfriend, who practically ate up his entire face, totally freaking him out. (That was his longtime friend and former stage co-star Idina Menzel, by the way.) I cannot get that hilarious image out of my head to this day.

Garrity was absolutely my favourite character followed closely by Lou.
I was getting angry when he got cancer and nobody seemed to give a sh*t. Not his family or the guys at the house. It could have been an emotional storyline and a great story arc for his character but instead it became just another one of those things in episodes. But Steven Pasquale made it work as best he could and had they killed him off I would have stopped watching.

If you don't know who I am. Then maybe the best course would be to tread lightly.
