Cop Outs

I know a lot of people think the cliche happy ending to the series was a cop out, but, Teddy shooting Tommy is worse. They leave it as a cliff hanger, Tommy bleeding to death surrounded by his family and co-workers...and the payoff is Teddy changed his mind, left and they called 911. Terrible. Watching it at the time I was wondering which character would step up and be the hero, but the room full of heroic characters sat around and did nothing until Teddy left. Tommy survives and all's good, no charges, no hard feelings, back to business. Terrible writing.
