ombloodyg!!!!

i just rented this out today (with fear!) and the background on the menu scared me! then i watched this 1st 2 mins, fast forwarded the rest fo the film. it looks horrible, people who think films like trainspotting and a clockwork orange are shocking should bloody watch this! they would die of shock! ok so before i take it back, should i watch it or not? if i do what should i prepare myself for?

well to be honest with you I wasn't too impressed with the movie.. probably moodysson's most pointless flick ever made.
prepare yourself for some angry and sick scenes, the worst being that the porn starlett gets sick spewed into her mouth... X-P
there are a few interesting details the director has thrown in, such as random objects in most scenes are blurred for no apparent reason.
to be honest with you, if you rented it, you should watch it.

reply

yer, wel turns out it wasn't that shocking, it was just sick and rubbish.

Hahahah really. I guess it was sick. Not really rubbish though. I enjoyed it. The comment about not understanding the blur is hilarious though. MPD Psycho is neat. I'm not sure how you get around to seeing this movie without really expecting what it shows though.

Prepare for part of a woman's vagina is removed, anal sex without lubrication, and a discussion about the woman's "smelly vagina".

It's really cute, and that is probably some of the least revolting scenes from the film.

Truly one of, or the absolute, worst films I've ever seen.

Okay... Hah! at you for renting... But nonetheless, I hope you didn't waste your money, if at least for the sake of education. Opening your mind up to the sick and twisted half-truth of the world, and all that.

Personally I quite liked it. I mean I didn't hate it. Considering I can't actually sit through rape scenes (an exception to everything else I can sit through) I watched it all. My only problem was that it left me feeling really empty. I just felt huge sorrow for the son (I foget the names, saw it a long time ago).

I guess it's worth seeing though. Quite artfully done; a pretty low budget I think?

Lucky you saw just 2 minutes. The rest of the film is disgusting trash. Don't. Just don't

Even if I set out to make a film about a fillet of sole, it would be about me.

i cant remember if i watched it or not now. i think i ened up watching it with a friend, but she left half way thru then i just watched little bits and fast farwarded to the end. ewww. i dont think it was that good either, unless becasue i didnt watch the whoel thign properly i didnt get to appriciate it.

Train spotting and ACO aren't very shocking. This is quite akin to those Japanese extreme films(Eat The Schoolgirl, Tetsuo) though so yeah it's quite out there.
However if you have a open mind and know a little about psychology this might be interresting to you. A strong stomach might also help. Some *beep* up stuff going on here. But I found it quite rewarding in the end.

Can someone post some spoilers of what's supossedly so shocking and nasty? Because I've heard that the movie isn't great, so I probably won't watch it. But, I'm curious as to what exactly happens in it that's so bad. I wann know what exactly goes on, without having to waste my money on renting it. Someone mentioned a part of a vagina being removed? How is that shown? Is the film really graphic or is it implied? What else happens? Just curious, thanks!

I know Kung Fu.

reply

No it's not implied. There's footage of a labia correction, some hardcore porn, forced feeding, vomiting, violence against women, etc.

Still if you have the stomach for it and an open mind it may surprise you.

why does everyone think this is rubbish?! one needs to go deeper than just nasty visuals, need to see the message of the whole thing.
its an artistic film, wich makes you think. people should be happy not living like this, and I belive thats the main message here. people need to get less shallow and see deeper into other persons, deeper into films, deeper into music and deeper into art.
watch the movie again and think about it, about what is said

thats all i wanted to say

reply

true. I thought the movie showed that behind the ugliness of it all there was some happiness if one was willing to work towards it.
