What a wasted opportunity!

I just watched this and am really disappointed they took such an interesting and potentially important event in NZ political history and turned it into this rubbish!

Granted Ian Wishart is a terrible writer of fiction prose, so I'm not surprised his screenplay is also terrible, and Geoff Murphy has never made a really seriously professional film in his career, but Wishart is a good journalist, and the subject matter is so fascinating any film based on it should have been much better than this.

Paul White died in very mysterious circumstances after discovering banking data implicating powerful NZ figures in naughty schemes. Almost the entire NZ political and security machine is set against him. What a shame Spooked is the only film version. Perhaps one day some one talented will create a worthier version?
