Disgusted and disappointed!

I lived through the sniper scare. I lived 5 minutes away from most of the shootings that accured in Maryland. I am disappointed that Hollywood has made a movie about this horrible ordeal and making the people who lived through it relive it again. It's not right and USA and producers of the movie should be ashamed! I am writing the company and filing a complaint!

I agree, I live in Montgomery County as well. It is just too soon. I don't need to watch it, I lived thru it.

I definitely agree. I live in Gaithersburg, 2 minutes from Police Headquarters. What a scary time this was - zig zagging to our cars, fearing for our safety for 3 weeks.

It was way too soon to show this film. I appreciate the facts being clearly represented (even though they do show mountains behind police headquarters, which there are none) ... but, I have chills watching this. It takes me back to that awful time.

Too too soon.

I am from NC and i probably have no clue what so ever of the pain and terror that was felt in the DC areas. But i do agree that this movie was made and shown way too soon. ..... oh look....its on again..... I would have waited 3 or 4 more years to release this movie.

And Like That...He's Gone

I also live in Montgomery County and I think that the movie was OK. It's also OK to make it now or at any other time. No one forces you to "relive" the events. If it's so traumatic for you, DO NOT WATCH. Very simple.

This movie was definitley made too soon, especially since the trial of the two suspects is going on right now (messing up the jury pool???). Also, we have NO idea which parts of the movie were fictionalized, dramatized, or whatever. But, it WAS very well acted and Charles Dutton did a good job portraying Chief Moose. And the movie definitley reminds me of the horror of that time. You do sit there and cringe at every killing that is committed, feel angry at Malvo and Muhammed, feel frustrated with the investigation missteps, and the satisfaction of the two being captured. But they really should have waited like a few years AFTER the convictions in court to make this movie.

reply

Agreed, I also am in Mont. County and had no problem with this movie. I thought it was well-done and a reasonably accurate portrayal of those events.

I agree. I live right by the silver spring YMCA which was depicted in the movie, actually within walking distance and my mother is the fitness director there. I was there a lot during the time and i would walk. I also walked to school. I know for a fact they drove down my street many times... I think they depicted silver spring as more of a city, than a suburb... The YMCA was about half the size of the one in the movie and is in a neighborhood full of children ranging from my 10 year old sisters to me, 17. Also they made it seem as though the public was aware the entire time and that the children were being delt with extra precaution. Noone i knew even realized really what was happening until the child was shot. Also there were no precautions taken in school until he was shot which was a while after the first person was shot. I just wish that USA would have a waited a little more time after the actual events and done much more research.
Anyways, thats the two cents from someone who who came into contact with the snipers. Hopefully someone will see it and do something about a new, better movie.

ahh calm down everyone

Hey guys,
I was actually in this movie..just a bit part, if you blink you'll miss me.. and while I agree it was very soon to make a movie about this, especially since the snipers' case is only just coming to trial, I have to say it was an amazingly well written script, very well acted, directed and produced, and very sensitive to victims and their families. Having been on set, the reverence and gravity of the events surrounding the depiction were held in great respect for those who had to live through it, and especially for those who didn't.

I too lived through the sniper shootings, and I enjoyed the movie. I liked viewing the event from perspectives other than my own. While I do think that they could have waited until at least after the trial to show it, that does not make the movie any worse. The movie is just that, a movie. No one should expect it to be real. And if you don't want to relive the events, don't watch it. And don't tell everyone that it was awful just because you didn't think it should have been shown.

I'm afraid that, realistically, an action with the most lasting effect will be... mass voting 1 for this trash on IMDB. The network will probably ignore any backslash; they must have been prepared for it since the moment they decided to produce this. As long as the dreck makes them more money than it cost to be produced, they couldn't be any happier.

Here's an idea...

DON'T WATCH IT! Jeez...All those buttons on your remote have a purpose. Juse the,

I live less then a mile from a bunch of the shootings in Aspen Hill, and was mad they didn't make the places look better then they did. It didn't look like Aspen Hill, or Leisure World, or Rockville.

if you dont like it - dont watch it. noone forces you to watch it... it is just a movie! MOOOOOO-VEEEEEEE! got that?

doh, im late here right :/

I found the movie very interesting, here in Europe we didn't get all the details and facts, by watching this movie we get a better picture of what happened.
I'm glad I watched it.

First of all the movie was not 'made too soon' you just watched it too soon. There was not much publicity over it or anything. If you watched it was because of your own free will nobody tapped you people to a chair and made you watch it. So don't bash the movie for it being made 'too soon'.
