New Good Looking Guys With A New Twist

Did anyone else notice that the new hot guys have pretty much really ugly personalities? The first series the guys were mostly, just boring and vapid. But these guys have a-hole written all over them. The set up was just too much of a build up not be having them shot down in flames.

Don't you think that the producers of the series thought about this and have probably scripted them to behave that way? So that allegedly it will build tension in the show and you can Boo the hunks?

Because when you think about it while I sympathize with the Average Guys (being one myself) I can also understand why the girl would almost always go for the hunks.

Let's face it. Why are the average joes there in the first place? Are they attracted to her for her brains or her volunteer work for the blind or her other abilities or accomplishments? No, they are after her for her looks so why is it wrong for the woman to be just as superficial?

reply

They were more scripted in Average Joe 2. They were all saying the same thing and it was mostly cruel. The good looking guys in Average Joe 1 were all pretty nice.

reply

I would not say the guys in AJ1 were nice, they were just boring. It was a different sort of take on the good looking guys to average joe spin. Looks trump personality, but given the shallow nature of the show (much as I enjoy it) it works.

I absolutely think the producers decided to script out and seek out the jockular types for a purpose. I also think they had to do something a little different as this was no surprise, which was enough of a shock in AJ1. I think it also gives better odds to the joes, as these new guy reek of being serious a-holes.

Being an average joe myself, also, I have seen looks trumpo just about anythign else. But I have also been surprised too. I think the Joes are just reacting to what they are given. Most of them have not gone out on dates with the woman, so they have only looks to go off of. Our perspective of all the parties involved are in hind site and from a perspective none of the participants really see.

I'm glad the guys are jerks. Otherwise, it's not entirely fair to say that the woman is shallow - she chose personality + looks over just personality, which, let's face it, is human nature. But if she's choosing between looks and personality... now there is a real test.

I think it will be interesting to see how the new guys really pan out. There is certainly discention among the ranks there. I think "The Beaver" and "The Informer" will make an exit in an elimination round. Larissa did not seem really overjoyed about the remark or being informed about it.

The new guy's entrance was way overblown and they were made out to be villains, and basically they are the jockular jerks that most of us Average Joes (myself included) resented in high school. They have played the roles true to themselves thus far, but I see cracks in the veneer of their alpha male portrayals.

It will be interesting.

and I'm sure there are "tendencies" in this new group... if all but two of them were gay. Twist it up and make it like boy-meets-boy. And when Larissa finally picks a hot guy, he can say: "Well, thank you for proving that you're superficial.. I'm leaving with that guy you cut two shows back!" Divine justice or divine comedy? Maybe both.

That would be hilarious if it happened but why would they even bother coming on the show if they were gay? Do they get paid just for playing?
