Stupidest characters in a horror movie

WTF was wrong with this movie ? Why were all the character THAT stupid ?

I mean, most characters are dumb in slashers, for sure, but in this movie, it's way beyond believable. The kid is totally retarded, he acts like a 3 year old kid. The blond girl and the mother have way too unrealistic reactions.

The concept for the movie was great, but it was so badly written that the movie was ruined.

I know right, the boyfriend was kinda dumb too - Dougie is by far the most stupid kid in a movie ever, how can you watch your dad getting killed like that and think it was a trick/joke? Why did nothing regarding all the killing he'd seen seem to register in his brain until the very end of the movie? Ive heard of delayed reaction but this kid was beyond ridiculous, he was annoying as hell too
