what is it about

I see a good recommendation for this flick, but not plot outline...what is it about?

From a review: "belongs to an elite group of films that speak the universal language of food and love. Quiet youngest child Shlomi has always been the peacemaker in his argumentative Moroccan family. He cares for his decrepit grandfather, referees the war between his separated parents, and caters to his elder sister and brother. Most importantly, he cooks... his cakes, pies and cookies soothe angry tempers and help make new friends. Unbeknownst to his family, Shlomi has other talents too... but it takes a beautiful gardener and patient principal to bring them to fruition."

Does sound good!!...thank you!

Wow, this sounds really great. It's unfortunate that the nearest movie theater playing this is about 30 miles away, but now I am willing to drive there! Thanks for the synopsis.

are you guys all from Israel or are you watching this movie as a foreign movie?
as an Israeli i'm interested if people out of the country actually take interest in movies that come out of here.

This is such a great movie! One of the best Israeli movies ever made and one of my personal favorites. It may have been made here, in Israel, but as the synopsis says, its message is international. It's about a painfully disfunctional family and a young boy whose life is but to serve them all, not realizing how special he is. Go see it, even if you have to drive 30 miles to the nearest theater.... it's really worth the effort.

I watched this film in my Hebrew class (I'm a student at an American university) on DVD. All of us in class loved it. I love it so much that I now own the DVD and watch the movie frequently.
