Question About Griselda Blanco

Forgive me if this question has been already been answered. In the documentary Jon Roberts mentions how members of the Cartel gave Griselda a pass each time she did something wrong, like kill people for stupid reasons because as Jon said and I quote: “the Colombians would give her a pass each time she did something wrong..... this woman should have been dead a long time ago.”

My question: Was there ever any reason given why they (cartel) were so lenient with her?

reply

cos she must have been making them a s^&*tload of money, why else? cos they were scared of her? not likely.

They probably just didn't understand you couldn't conduct business in a major American city the way you could in Colombia. Setting off bombs and shoot outs on a free way? Not going to fly here. The average citizen will demand the violence stop, and the government has the power to respond to those cries.

They were so used to dealing with an ineffectual government like Colombia's, they had no idea what they were up against when they thought they could act a fool in the US.
