Hardboiled Wonderland and the End of the World

I knew it! A lot about this show reminds me of that book.

I'm sort of reading that now. The story's very abstract but nevertheless very interesting ( well most of it) . I was hooked until around page 400. The story got a bit boring and now its almost like I'm forcing myself to finish it.

Can you recommend any Japanese works that are better than the Hardboiled Wonderland, particularly by that author? The novel had an interesting premise but the ending felt incomplete for me...

Its funny first i heard of the book and read it, then i heard of the show and watched it. After reading Hardboiled and watching Haibane i was thinking "Wow, these two have alot of similarities." I did some research and found out they got ideas for Haibane from the book Hardboiled. Didnt know one used ideas from the other before hand, just got into both of them randomly and absolutely loved them. Funny how that works.
