1965 Falburn Academy - True Story????

So, I was only able to half-way watch this movie today b/c my 2 yr old was home with me, BUT I DVR'd it so I'm going to watch it tomorrow.
BUT...I did catch the ending that said the Falburm Academy burned down in 1965 and no one has been able to explain why the woods around the academy never burned. After looking online for a while, I haven't even found a real Falburn Academy - although I've found tons of academies in the New Enland area that burned down in the late 1800's to 1940's. Also, I read that this was written by a Brazilian screenwriter? So, is it real or not? Did the screenwriter find a little bit of a story about an academy burning down, and then, decide to make it seem real or what?
If it is real, can you send me a link or direct me to a website where I can actually read about the real fire? Always curious...thanks for your help!!!

Not based on a true story. The director just tacked that on to make the ending more dramatic. Unfortunately, it instead just seemed out of place.
