What's your "mum's" number? ;)

reply

LOL!

I really am tempted to answer by "filthy is just the way your mom likes it", but I don't wanna be a douche. ;-)

reply

the reply was still a bit "douchey" though, haha!

You're sick dude-get help--- especially when your profile says:
I like extreme movies usually involving youths and devient sexuality

I have notified Scotland Yard Internet Department, hope you end up in jail.. they will love you there

reply

Frankly, the scene was gut wrenching. I have to say that 2 gay brothers doing each other turns me on though. hahaha.

reply

if you think that was filthy you should see Ma Mere, a French film pretty much about nothing except a hedonistic mother and son.

reply

WOW. This thread is FUNNY.

I just don't get why the son went along with it.......yeah ok, he was brought up without moral values, etc, so in a way, I guess it's kind of an autodestructive force in him.....he knew it was wrong (I mean, he killed her later, didn't he), but couldn't stop himself from pushing the autodestoy button.

The guy can't get it up with women but did on his mother?!!

Is there any scientific, biological, psychological, spiritual, or realisic explanation to that?

reply

Because it is every boy's dream.

reply

OMG!

Please don't say you believe that.

How badly were you damaged as a child, anyway?

If it's true, I doubt any of the above perspectives could explain it. There's so much we don't understand about the mind and behavior. However, where did you get the idea that he was physically unable to have sex with other women? I inferred that he Blanca had had sex (well, at least a Lewinsky).

reply

The sex scene was sick PERIOD! But hell it could have been worse.

reply

Well, Julianne Moore is "out there". I could see no one else portraying the character, other than Moore. I have always commented on her sex scenes in her movies; wow, nothing surprises me anymore after Boogie Nights. Remember the scene with Willem Dafoe? Gee.. I can't think of the title of the movie, however.

Also, End of the Affair, Short Cuts. Moore is a very eclectic actress, and these types of roles are meant for her. Someone has to play them, huh? I bet she loves sex in real life, also.

Moore's sex scenes have alway been very realistic, as if, in front of the camera, she is doing it for real. Maybe perhaps, she is..... or has.

Now that is what you call acting.

Anyone else agree?

well, I don't read the book. but based on the movie only, I guess what Tony did to his mother was a result of his father abandoning her mother. we've seen Tony wrote letters to Brooks and asked him to come home because "she's so unhappy" etc.
Tony felt that there were only him and Barbara who were left in that family and he ought to take care of his mother, even more so after her suicidal attempt. so the sex scene.. was one of his way to do that. he wanted to pleasure his mother.

it's sick? I know! I think he loved his mother so much and was troubled enough to mistook the way he supposed to show that. and besides taking advantage of his son, I think she wanted to "cure" him. but we know that didn't go as much as she wanted.

I personally like the bathroom scene, the one with ice cream and Tony took care of Barbara's wrists. 😜

reply

You guys, it's not supposed to be sexy, it's supposed to be sick. That's the whole point. I mean, what were you expecting? You all sound so surprised that a threesome involving a mother and son was a complete turn off.

I'm not saying the film failed in its representation of the characters, just pointing out how disgusted I was.

You know if Julianne Moore wanted to bang me, I;d be a moron to resist.

Luckily none of my family are even remotely attractive, so its moot.

But if I had a mother that looks like her... I'd probably have had some serious Oedipus issues growing up.

Actually the threesome was nothing shocking to me.
I knew the story behind the movie and so was expecting that and thought how they showed it was as tasteful one could be with such a topic.

WARNING SLIGHT SPOILER BELOW!!!

I think most people are talking about the sex scene in the living room(right before her murder) and the resulting "service" she gives her son.
The intercourse scene was not so "shocking" because they had their clothes on and if you turned fast you can miss it. I think what packs the wallop is the hand job scene. But in my mind I think that was the movie makers way of showing just how totally lost(and a million other things) & in need of help these people were.

aurora-pilot I agree on both counts; can you tell me how he killed her? I had to step away for less than 5 minutes, but missed that scene - did he stab her?
