Lol well I liked it - but I thought about the non condom thing too - not a great example but then again movies normally aren't in that regard.

This was one of the lousiest sex scenes I have ever seen. Absolutely no foreplay, just throw the chick onto the rough wooden planks of the pier, drop your daks and shove it in. But film being a medium largely controlled by males of the species (even in cases where the director is female, as here) it's not surprising that the preliminaries necessary in real life are given a miss in filmic fantasyland.

it is a movie...and not many movies show the foreplay invovled in sex.
and i say this sex scene was used to show the heat of the moment type sex and the passion of it with the tension that had built up.
even movies that are rated "mainly concerned with sex" don't use foreplay.
yeah, its good in real life. lol, but sometimes in real life it doesn't happen :P. and generally filmmakers don't have the time or a need for it

I thought that the actors did a great job in this scene. It looked very natural and real. The climaxes looked real also. It looked like real sex between two adults, who are finally consummating a strong attaction that has built up for weeks.

Sometimes, when two people are that excited, neither partner has the patience for extended foreplay. Tender foreplay and exploration comes later, when you have finally calmed down and satisfied the animal part of the attraction.

While I enjoyed the scene thoroughly, several times, I don't think they actually had sex. They're reactions were perfect, but I don't think so. I also don't think much foreplay would have been needed given the circumstances...the splinter thing did come to mind, but it is a small price to pay :)

Of course they didn't actually have sex...they are actors. However it looked very real (except for the obvious screaming when splinters got into a tender spot...OW!) Plus when you have been attracted to someone for a while just looking at them and kissing is foreplay enough sometimes.

I saw this movie just a couple of months ago. I thought it was done very nicely. A spur of the moment thing that had been building for awhile. Who cares that there was no foreplay! It was Alex. I would have sex with him anywhere, anytime. One of my favorite movies of his.

I thought to myself "wow, are they really doing it?", He has great sex face.....and looks like he really knows how to grind it in there.....but he needs to work on the stamina, I think if I was her and got 20 seconds out of the deal with no foreplay (and no condom) I'd be bloody pissed.

If you got the right chemistry together and the tension has been building for a while, it doesn't last long for either of you...doesn't mean you can't do it again though after some afterplay and then it lasts longer!

And if you haven't figured that out already...you're probably with the wrong guy!

Not really. In a long camera shot, it looked like Pearl was wearing underpants, and the camera angles very deftly avoided showing any real details. It looked like mock up sex to me. Going through the motions for the camera, but no real action taking place.

Personally, if it was with Alex, I would let him do me hard on a dock and then I'd enjoy letting him pick the splinters out of my ass! And the kiss beforehand would be about all the foreplay I'd need with him!
