Liposuction

If a modern setting were to be used for The Merchant of Venice 'the pound of flesh' could be removed through liposuction. That way, no grievous bodily harm would befall Antonio. But I doubt that Shylock would feel like he was getting his revenge using that method, so he would probably consider a pound of fat an unacceptable payment.
