why the movie doesn't make sense - spoilers

if clooney knew that zellweger was trying to "cook carter's goose" he would have had an interest in trying to kill the story immediately; if krazinski's war heroism was discovered to be a fraud, the public would have turned on him, and no one would have gone to see professional football.

it would have made for a more interesting story if clooney wrestled with this but still turned on kranzinski.

also, that trade kinda came out of nowhere. would have made much more sense if clooney accidentally found out about it before they fought
