Plot Summary???

The IMDB plot summary on this movie currently reads:
"A romantic comedy set in the world of 1920s football, where the owner of a professional team drafts a strait-laced college sensation, only to watch his new coach fall for his fiancée."
Now, let's leave aside the 'comedy' decriptor for a bit... was Dodge the team owner? Who is the new coach - Rutherford, the college sensation? What fiance? Does this refer to Lexie? I didn't think she was enagaged to anyone (at least until the end)???
So, what the heck is the plot summary on about?

i don't know about that fiance part, but yes, Dodge was the team owner.

the first iteration showed the team fold. he brought them back by pawning some things (and must have had some other cash stuffed somewhere).

rutherford was the college sensation.
