Why was this Rated R?


The violence isn't any worse than what you might see on television, there was maybe one use of the "F" word... what else?

And the shot of the body in bed with splattered blood all over the wall.

In this case the R rating could perhaps help the movie gain an audience.
All of subject matter is for adults, both the murders and Capote's life.
If someone was undecided about seeing it, PG-13 might make it less serious, or suggest censorship or being watered down per se?


On TV they just want to sell commercials, so different standards.
