Not just in the movie, but also in the book (in cold blood) it is mentioned that dicks eyes will be 'given' or transplanted for someone else to use... :S

Eye transplants do happen. But they're just like any other organ donations, they are anonymous

They can transplant corneas but not the whole eyes. I don't remember how long they've been able to.
