I was living and working in Germany 2004 - 2006 and I only periodically picked up an episode here and there on my return to the UK - but never really got into it.
Sony TV have been repeating it every weekday from episode one. Wow what a great series and all of the remaining series to watch. What a treat.
Do bear in mind that the Netflix / Sony versions are highly edited and you are getting a 49 / 50 minutes program instead of the original 59 minute edition.
The programs (like Jonathan Creek) are butchered for the US market so that they can fit more adverts in. It is these US versions that appear on Netflix rather than the longer BBC versions. The editing is really bad and poorly thought out as well, crucial plot points and sub-plots can get completely cut and it can leave you wondering why something happened when it wasn't signalled. Usually it was signalled but some editing Muppet cut out the original reference.
Go on any UK program imdb board and you will always find people asking why something happened that we here in the UK saw very clearly on original broadcast or on DVD.
Do yourself a huge favour and find the BBC / ITV versions of these shows. They are much more enjoyable.
