Questions about the movie

Hi,

I have a couple of questions about the film - I'm wondering if anyone can help with them?? I was wondering if anyone knows whereabouts in Armenia it was filmed? Also, why did they always speak about the money being "dollars". I thought they used Drams as the currency in Armenia?

Thanks!

reply

Yes, the Armenian unit of currency is the dram, but judging from the movie, Armenians just don't trust their money to keep its value. Looking at the state of affairs portrayed in the film, that's hardly surprising. The dollars used in the movie are in fact American, which you can see if you watch the film closely. I saw the movie this afternoon with my cousin, who went to Armenia a couple of years ago, and I asked him whether everybody used American dollars like that when he was there. He said that he didn't see them being used to that extent. He and his traveling companions had in fact converted their money to drams and used those, but US money was definitely in circulation.

The movie was filmed in a village outside of Aparan, Armenia.
