Boney M

Anyone else find that scene with Boney M hilarious? Which leads me on to the point; if you were half way down a mountain with a gammy leg and delerious, what would your song be? Mine would be Knee's Up Mother Brown.

After meeting many Russians who love Boney M and think that they are one of the West's great imports (along with the Scorpions), I can't help laughing at that scene either.

Lol, I was unaware!

It was an odd choice of Joe, wasn't it?

I would be thinking of something like Stay by Shakespeare's Sister as it's quite bluesy!

reply

What about Elvis Costello: I cant stand up for falling down...?

reply

It was quite clear that it was not a choice on his part. He clearly said he was baffled why this song came into and wouldnt leave his head. He said he doesnt like the group and it was annoying him that it wouldnt leave.

stop using facts and logic on an internet message board.

"in this world there's two kinds of people ... those with loaded guns, and those who dig."

Yes, and he also said he dreaded the thought of that song still going on in his head if he died.

reply

I think it was the choice of his subconcious mind.
Here are some of the lyrics from Brown Girl in the Ring:

Show me your motion
Tra la la la la
Come on show me your motion
...

All had water run dry
Got nowhere to wash my clothes

His subconcious was wanting him to keep moving, and also he was really thirsty, because he couldn't melt enough snow fast enough to get enough to drink.

Get Up (I Feel Like Being A) Sex Machine by James Brown!

Its Ironic but really works well for the movie...I think more movie makers should try this approach as for my song would be Bird Of Prey...

I thought that scene was creepy as hell!

reply

Mine would probably end up being something like MMMMmmmmbop by Hanson lol
Way worst than Boney M.

If I could choose it would be the Requiem for a Dream/Lord of the Rings theme song, Lux Aetna.

reply

yes, but tubthumping is from 1997, and the year in the story where the movie developes is in 1985

I thought this scene was creepy as well. I didnt see humor in it. It was haunting that it was torturing him and wouldn't cease in such a way that there was an evil force behind it. I dunno, thats what I got from it.

"Blinded by the liiiight, lit up like a deuce another runner in the night, Bliiiinded by the light, lit up like a duece, another-"

Mannfred Man...... enough said the better. That song is like an incessant loop of pure evil.
