no, i think there's one curse word in it the whole time.
shareThank you for your answer. but Forgive my unprecise question. Is the sex and drug referances very strong? Thank you. I really want to see this film, but my mom won't let me 'cause of the rating, and I need to find something to ressurect it.

i don't think there's any sex at all. there's a few references to hippies and drugs and tolkien in the 70s. and maybe a few pipe weed jokes. but i'm pretty sure thats it.
it's only pg 13, same as LOTR
Tell your Mom to rest easy. Dominic Monaghan (who is RINGERS' narrator and master story-teller) speaks about the events in the 60s during the American Counterculture movement, and how the hippies loved Tolkien. RINGERS, truthfully, did not deserve a PG-13. It is really in the PG area of making a slight joke about "pipeweed" and there is some later discussion of "fan fiction" which includes a reference to slash fiction where some girls are writing new stories about the hobbits "having a happy life together." This film is extremely family friendly. There is nothing your Mom should worry about, compared to the outrageous sex and violence of other PG-13 movies.
