Ending still confuses me

I think Rebecka took that knife and killed Jake because Belle told her she had no choice. Then again, sometimes it looks like Beck is killing herself. Anyone agree???

Me again. I just watched it this weekend, (surprise, surprise!) My take on it was that she killed herself.

(I also watched SUICIDE KINGS.)

You could be right. It's almost like she finally got tired of living. This movie has in the past 2 days or so become one of my favorites! She had a miserable life with that mother of hers, but also because she was obviously mentally ill. I think she either killed Jake because she was completely delusional or she killed herself to put herself out of her misery and spare him being her next victim.

I think Rebecka has the same illness as Billy Chenowith, or maybe she has schizophrenia. The symptoms she has come with both illnesses.

I so agree with you...I saw it today and you think she is obeying by killing Jake...but the position of her arms and hands says she is hitting herself...(maybe I've been watching too much CSI ha ha)
but I was still confused...they told what happened to the reall woman at the end but not Beck...
ps...was the Belle woman really real?

Yes Belle Gunness was a real person but I don't know a whole lot about how many men she killed and whether or not she ever got punished.

I believe she got so involved in the role she was playing and possibly, because this movie was based on a rt story as noted at the beginning, she believed she was being visited by the "ghost" of Belle, she did kill him at the end.

Belle was a real person, it was originally thought she was killed in a fire at her home along with her 3 children, however when the body was discovered, headless, it was the body of an approximately 70 lb woman, whereas Belle was about 200 lbs.

It was then thought she may have taken the identity of Esther Carlson and went to LA, who proceeded to kill I believe it was 3 children/teens, and a couple of men. When a trunk was found which this woman had in her possession, after she'd left a place she was staying, it contained photos of Belle's dead children. It was never proven that this woman was Belle, only suspected. This happened shortly after Helgelein's brother came looking for him. Information on Belle, I'm sure, can be found online, just look for Belle Gunness.

It said at the end of the movie she was suspected of killing over 70 people.

Actually, it said 40 people, not 70.

I only just caught the very ending. I'm definitely going to watch the entire thing when I get the chance. It looked to me as if she was going to stab herself. I think the diretor left it ambiguous intentionally to let the viewer decide.
