Seriously underrated film

This film is way more enjoyable than it's '6.4' IMDB rating would suggest.

Warm, amusing, some of Oscar Wilde's most immortal lines, great cameo roles. A perfect Sunday afternoon film.

It also stands up to multiple views very well - a good test for me. For Tom Wilkinson it must be one of the very best things (among many excellent things) he has done. Love the final scene with Helen Hunt in the plane.

And they actually managed to make a Wilde film without usual standbys Messrs Fry and Everett, and it's all the better for that!

Should be in high '7's imho......

I rated it a 7 but that includes a star for the ending. It felt like a soap opera to me. How do people in love not talk? Sure, some give up the right, but here that wasn't the case. Yes, Mr. Wilde attacks society and norms, but how did we get here if everyone was so unhappy and deceitful? Maybe I'm taking this too seriously, as others.
