What are the model and manufacturer of the plane?
I really enjoyed the period aspects of this movie. Does anyone know about the plane which flew off into the sunset at the end of the movie?

shareI have not verified this to a perfect standard, but it looks very like the de Havilland DH 89 Dragon Rapide, a successful British passenger aircraft first flown in 1934.
You can consult the following web page to find out more and see if you agree -

There is at least one still flying and available for joy flights near Cambridge in the UK and there are other interesting references and comments on that page.
The images provided an intriguing atmosphere to a romantic ending of a pleasing rendition of the Wilde play.

Boeing had introduced its Model 80 in 1928, which also was designed as a passenger transport. But I wonder if it could have been an Italian plane....though comercial travel for them was not quite off the ground( no pun)....Ford had a few things flying
