Can Scarlett Johansson act?
because i've certainly never seen her do it.
shareWho cares?
That is a matter of opinion and I don't give a **** about yours.
I was really dissappointed with her in this, she was so bland. She is so good in LIT and Ghost World, I was shocked at how bad she is 'A Good Woman'. But this film overall is pretty dissappointing.
lets get together and use those arms
well her character was sort of bland, what was she supposed to do? helen hunt wasn't great, though. i thought her inflections were really artificial.
shareYes, she can. But even if she couldn't, she'd still be worth watching! ;)
shareThey should have at least showcased her heaving bosom. Crap film.
shareShe's a great actress.
"All attempts to answer that question before 1859 are worthless..." -- G.G. Simpson.
I completely disagree. In this film I saw her return to the highly nuanced, carefully crafted preformance that she displayed in "The Girl in the Pearl Earing;" in that film and this one she let enough of herself into the role to make her two rather boring characters completely enthralling. Although she failed to do this in "Match Point" and "Perfect Score" (who can blame her for that one, what an awefull movie), Scarlett demonstrates an incredible grasping of her craft in almost all of her movies.
shareShe might be one of those actresses who is so beautiful that if a director makes her unattractive, you can hardly even focus on the performance. I didn't think she was very good in this movie, but she was wonderful in Lost in Translation. Here, she was so god-awful unpleasant to look at with those ringlets and the less-that-seductive clothes, and then that hideous red lipstick, yikes - how could you judge her performance? Her unattractiveness was mesmerizing.
shareIt's her line delivery that's so bad. Sounds like she's reading ingredients off a cereal box. Helen Hunt's inflections are absurdly phony. Everyone else in the movie is pitch perfect, though, and they carry the film (despite the two leading ladies).
