Gaz Bar VS la Grande Séduction

Ok am I the only the only one who think Gaz Bar blues is much more better than la Grande Seduction???

Well, I liked both. They are totally different movies. Gaz Bar Blues has its funny parts, but it's more of a drama, while La Grande Séduction is a light comedy.

However, Gaz Bar Blues is indeed more profound, and the fact that La Grande Séduction is basically a rip off of Doc Hollywood, starring Michael J. Fox (even though La Grande Séduction is vastly superior to Doc Hollywood), makes me agree with you, Gaz Bar Blues is a better movie all around. Serge Thériault, for one, did a great job in it.

I don't know if Ken Scott, writer of La Grande Séduction, knew about Doc Hollywood, but it sure was a disapointment for me to see his movie bears so many ressemblances to it. Still, as I said, I reckon both La Grande Séduction and Gaz Bar Blues are pretty good movies. I only wish Gaz Bar Blues would get more recognition...

Both are excellent films. La Grande Seduction is more of a feel good movie, but Gaz Bar seems to have more depth, especially the character of Mr. Brochu (the boss). Serge Theriault was just amazing!!

I just wish that these great movies would get more screen time here in Toronto.
