Spielberg

I'm glad I saw this. It helped me understand some of the criticism leveled at "Schindler's List" a little more. The fake gas chamber/shower scene of the women at Auschwitz towards the end of the film always seemed like Spielberg was manipulating his audience.

What both surprised and galled me was Spielberg's description isf using the little girl in the red coat to symbolize Russia, England and the US "knowing about the Holocaust and doing nothing about it." I've heard this statement from other sources and I believe it is an invalid statement that reveals an ignorance of the Allied forces and their ability to reach the death camps, if that had been established as a goal.
