Big Fish was a knock off of this movie.
Its shocking how much Big Fish pretty much stole from the general plot of this movie. Really sad
shareTwo years later, but oh well: Big Fish is actually an adaptation of a 1998 novel by Daniel Wallace. Furthermore, the movies were released 2 months apart, so I don't see how either one of them could have ripped off the other.
sharewell, that tends to happen. like "the straight story" and "abilene" looks like it has to be inspired by one and other, but they were both released around the same time. 1998-99.
i'd like to see this. think it aired on a movie channel a few months ago, or it was another movie with the same actor, but it must have aired few times, couse i thought i'd have good time to check it out but before i knew it it slipped away.

No ripoffs. Just similar themes. Second Hand Lions was also similar.
