Favorite character?

I noticed that this board is kinda dull, lol. Not many discussions, so I dunno, I thought I'd start a topic. Feel free to share your views. I enjoyed this film. It's not one of my favorites from Woody Allen, but I appreciated it anyhow. One of the characters that I just loved was Cassie, from the 'tragic' storyline. Brook Smith really did a good job on this part. All of her lines were delivered to perfection and she had a lot of screen presence. Definitely my favorite character. What about u ?

I liked Cassie too. She especially brought a lot of life into that otherwise drab segment too. Overall, one of my favorite Allen films.

Cassie all the way! She was so confident and sassy and she really owned any space she was in. Loved this character!

Laurel actually. Not sure why.

She was a good mix of interesting, complex, seemed like a good person with good intentions but was just going through her own stuff. She stood up for herself and her feelings. She is obviously beautiful and talented with the piano but wasn't braggy and didn't feel the need to talk about herself all the time like every other character in the film, they were so self involved. She only talked about herself when she was confused about her feelings for someone else and her husbands affair. I liked that I could actually sympathize for her---whereas I couldn't sympathize with Melinda's character whatsoever in both the comedic and tragedy portions. Laurel was just the most interesting to me in all ways. And it's good that she's likable. You can like unlikable characters, but she wasn't unlikable. I like people that can be interesting in subtle ways.
