Great Idea... needs a more suitable director...

I think the problem here was Woody himself - his films already have a history of blending comedy and drama - the end result here is that neither "film" feels like a true comedy or true drama... the drama has funny elements, and the comedy is just not very... funny. Both just feel like two Allen movies playing simultaneously.

I would like to see this concept revisited, but with TWO directors - one famed for comedy, and one for drama... maybe Apatow or Edgar Wright for comedy, and maybe Fincher or Anderson for the drama... have them each make their movie independent of the other -THEN mash them up... I think that would be much more interesting.
