Hi! I was wondering if anyone knows if I can find Politiki Kouzina on DVD and buy it online. I don't live in Greece anymore so I can't search there. I already tried Amazon but couldn't find anything.
I am looking for a dvd of this movie because I need it to have english subtitles. If anyone knows something about it please let me know.

Unfortunately, the DVD of Politiki Kouzina will delay a lot: either in Greece or Abroad! That's because the film will be the greek delegation for the Oscars of 2004 or 2005! In order to be eligible it mustn't been released on DVD, VHS or other rent/retail material!

Do you mean NO DVD in United States?
This is because many of the other Foreign Films submission are already available on DVD (in their own home country).
I am also interested in the DVD.
I am okay with OTHER region DVD as long as there are English subtitles.

The DVD in Greece will be released in January.According to the director,the package will include 2 DVDs;one with the movie and one with the makings.

oddly enough, i met the producer last night at a new years party....
the release (in USA) can only happen after the oscars. it could be ready in february 05. it is apparently available in UK... maybe try UK ebay!

shareHi, I am a Turkish-American and I am in the process of completing a 120-page thesis on Turkish cinema. I also have an interest in Greek film, but alas like Turkish films they are all too hard to find on American shores. I stumbled across this film called "A Touch of Spice." It sounds very interesting. There seem too be quite a few Turkish-Greek co-productions these days! I know of two Turkish films with Greek overlaps, they are Camur/Mud (2003) made by Turkish Cypriot director Dervis Zaim and another one called Gemide/On the Boat, which came out around 2001 and was alas was widely panned. But, these ventures would have been unthinable in the '70s and it is a great thing too see. At some point in time, I would like to organzie a Turkish and Greek film fest in America. It is a shame more Greek films are not shown here either. At the present time, Theo Angelopoluous' "Landscape in the Mist" is my favorite Greek film but I understand much like the current Turkish film "Distant"; it is not indicative of many contemporary Greek films since its' influences are mostly those from other European cultures. Anyway, I definitely want too see "A Touch of Spice." any help one can give would be most appreciated.

@turkam: Gemide ("On Board" not "On The Boat") has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with Greece, Greeks, Turco-Greek relations, and anything of that nature. I wonder how you labelled it with the "Greek overlap" at all?!? You're right about Çamur though, I just think it exaggerates the message by the repetitive "I killed Greeks as a retaliation, I'm so sorry" thing, thus weakening it substantially.

The VCD and DVD are now available from any Hong Kong online video distributor. These are real (not bootlegs) discs with Chinese and English subtitles. I bought the VCD in Hong Kong for about $US5. Online is more expensive. The movies was VHS-quality, which was fine since I only plan to ever watch it once. You can also find it on ebay every once in awhile. I recommend anyone to just do a Google Search of "A Touch of Spice" and DVD and it will pop up.
The collector's edition DVD has been available in PAL system (european version) at www.greekshops.com for over a couple of years now... An NTSC (US system) Hong Kong version is also available from time to time. The European/Greek version has special features and it is a two DVD set.
