The one ot the two finnish soldier that informed the finnish tank group that there is russian tanks on the road says. "Ampukaa se mies!" = "Shoot that man!" meaning the russian who just carried the wounded finnish soldier to the side of the road. When the finnish yells that sentence the tank officer graps hold of the guy and agrilly tells him "Sanos äijä saatana uudestaan..." = "Say that one more time" saying also a finnish curse word "saatana" = "devil" meaning more like *beep* in english. So in other word the retreating guy tells the others to shoot the russian but the tank officer tells him to shut up.

That scene and several other scenes in the movies are more like legends that happened in the war. I don't think all of them happened in that place or really might not even happened at all. For example the part where the one finnish soldier claims to see a corpse of a lotta (A woman belonging in an organization that helped the war effort. They mostly worked as nurses in field hospitals) and start to move to the direction where he claims to see it. Another soldier tries to stop him but can't reach him on time and he gets hit by a mortal cell. Of course there was nobody and he was hallusinating.

What do you mean by "I don't think all of them happened in that place or really might not even happened at all."

The lotta scene is entirely plausible either due to stress or even possibly drugs.
There were many similar things going on, a lot of the members in "kaukopartiot" have memories of seeing cities in the middle of the forest, mistaking stones for animals and whatnot. Also Åke Lindmann has said in an interview that many scenes are out of place due to the simple fact that he wanted to show them. One example is the General (cant remember his name right now) who is killed while visiting the frontline.

reply

Gen. Wihma was killed at Ihantala, but there was at least one occasion where a visiting General was killed by stepping on a mine.

Play it again Frank, I don't give a damn.

reply

Well yes he was, but he was killed after the battles shown in the movie. But Lindman wanted to include it.

reply

Oh yes, that is true.
