Indeed. A better film would've had the circle of friends tag along and just claim to want to be apart of his last hours on earth and document everything and then to perhaps slowly have each one decide (secretly) that they are going to join him in the end. And then have them DO.

And then... the psycho pedo rapist could've gone on his killing spree as before (this could've been the start of the movie with the rest in flashback) only, let it be a complete surprise to the others. Let Scott discover Patrick's (or was his name Pete? Whoever the pedophile was) hidden tapes only minutes before the spree beings. Then Scott will realize that his entire plan has gone to sh$t because of what Patrick has done, but it's too late.

Scott discovers that Patrick has stolen the tapes, and cut a new version that has them all looking like monsters. He then destroys the originals.

That woulda been poetic... to have his so called genious suicide plot be turned into something completely FUBAR... and NOT to give him a chance to say he regrets everything. What a cop out.

Nah don't think so. The plot now is realistic... It's not poorly written at all. What intrigues me most is that it delves into the psychology of school shooters and the like.

reply

It's incredibly poorly written, dialogue is smug, pretentious and insincere, it's as if it was written by a child who'd read a lot of philosophy but not understood it at all, in addition the film has no structure whatsoever.

Not disappointing. Excellent film

Methinks the patriotic Mr. Xcalate 1776 missed the point.

Teenagers DO do irrational stuff. All the other teenagers saying, no Scott, YOU can't just commit suicide, we all want to, too.

That WAS a WTF moment, but it wasn't poorly written, IMO.

Scott should've said, do y'alls (that's Texan for youse - which is Brooklynese for y'alls) know what suicide will do?

You will NEVER experience anything else. All your hopes and dreams. And imagine the hurt on everyone who loves you.

Of course, Scott, the MOST seemingly set in his wanting suicide ultimately realized it was a mistake - when it was about to end.

The mother's reaction? Very sad and moving. Great film.

It was hard to believe that Alexa Vega's character would easily go along with it, lol. I probably would of liked it better if I were in High School but I'm 23 and it just didn't work for me. The whole camera shaky thing was annoying they should of just made it look like a regular movie. I don't think Douglas character shouldn't of been killed so easily like that either.
